Vauxhall
The Vauxhall Vivaro is a true British workhorse. It is proudly made in Britain and has been a great success story as one of the best-selling mid-size vans in the market, with 1.3 million manufactured since production first started in Bedfordshire back in 2001.
The latest version of the Vivaro shares its underpinnings with the Peugeot Expert & Citroën Dispatch. These are the same underpinnings made by PSA’s EMP2 platform and used on cars such as the Peugeot 508 saloon and DS 7 Crossback, which accounts for this van’s superior driving experience - very comfortable and more connected to the road.
There are two versions of the panel van, the L1 & L2, both of which have the same internal load height of 1397mm, the main differences between the models being load volumes and pulling capacity. The L2 has an extra load volume of 1.8 cu.m and a towing capability of 2500 kg thanks to its powerful 2.0 diesel turbo engine. If this seems a little excessive, the L1 might be the better option, particularly if the van is to be used principally in a city environment where space is at a premium.
