In UK leasing terms, a small van is typically a sub-2-tonne car-derived or compact panel van, think Ford Transit Courier, Citroën Berlingo (XL), Peugeot Partner, Volkswagen Caddy, Renault Kangoo, Vauxhall Combo, and electric equivalents like the Maxus eDeliver 3. Payloads run from ~600 kg up to ~1,000 kg, with load volumes from around 2.5 to 4.4 m³.
Yes. Personal van leasing (PCH) is available on every small van we offer. The monthly rental quoted is inclusive of VAT for personal customers, there's no VAT recovery, but the contract is otherwise identical to a business lease. Many people lease a small van as a daily driver for trips to the tip, weekend sport or moving home.
If you do most of your miles inside an urban area, almost certainly yes. The Maxus eDeliver 3, Peugeot e-Partner, Citroën ë-Berlingo, Vauxhall Combo Electric and Renault Kangoo E-Tech all qualify for ULEZ and Congestion-Charge exemption, have running costs as low as 4 to 6p/mile when home-charged, and have benefit-in-kind (BiK) rates significantly below diesel equivalents. Range on most small electric vans is 130 to 200 real-world miles, which covers a typical working day.
Most small vans are available from UK stock with lead times of 2 to 4 weeks, including pre-delivery inspection and plates. Factory-order vehicles take longer (8 to 14 weeks depending on manufacturer), but you'll know the exact lead time before you place your order. We'll always flag in-stock options first if you need a van quickly.
The most common contract on a small van is 36 months with a 9-month initial rental and 10,000 miles per year, that's the baseline our 'From' price quotes against. Terms run from 24 to 60 months, with mileage bands from 6,000 up to 30,000+ per year. Use the calculator on the vehicle page to flex term, mileage and initial rental and see the monthly impact instantly.
The Peugeot Partner is currently the UK's best-selling small van, ahead of its Stellantis siblings the Citroën Berlingo and Vauxhall Combo Cargo, the three share the same underpinnings and together dominate the segment thanks to strong payloads (up to ~1,000 kg), big load volumes and keen value. The Volkswagen Caddy, Ford Transit Courier and Renault Kangoo round out the top picks. Buyers favour the Partner for its class-leading payload, practical cab and the option of a fully electric e-Partner. All of these are available to lease with us.
