In UK leasing terms, a large van is the 3.5-tonne class: Ford Transit, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Volkswagen Crafter, Renault Master, Vauxhall Movano, Peugeot Boxer, Citroën Relay, Iveco Daily and Maxus Deliver 9. Payloads from ~1,200 to 1,500+ kg, load volumes from 9 to 17 m³ depending on wheelbase and roof height.
No, every standard 3.5-tonne large van can be driven on a normal UK Category B licence. (Drivers who passed before 1 January 1997 also have C1 entitlement up to 7.5 t, but that's not needed for any van we offer.) Some 4.25-tonne electric variants can also be driven on a Category B licence under the alternative-fuel derogation, provided you meet a 5-hour training requirement.
On an L2H2 (medium-wheelbase, medium-roof) large van the load volume is around 10 m³, three euro pallets, or a typical 1-bedroom flat's worth of furniture. Step up to an L4H3 jumbo and you're at ~17 m³, five euro pallets or a small house move. Payloads typically range from 1,200 to 1,500+ kg; specific figures depend on the engine, transmission and any optional equipment fitted.
Yes. Personal van leasing (PCH) is available across the large-van range and is popular for self-build campers, expedition use and hobby builds. The monthly figure quoted is inclusive of VAT for personal customers; the contract is structurally identical to a business lease.
Most large vans go on a 36-month contract with a 9-month initial rental and 10,000 miles per year. UK-stock vehicles deliver in 2 to 8 weeks; factory orders run 12 to 20 weeks (Mercedes Sprinter and Volkswagen Crafter sit at the longer end). The calculator on each vehicle page flexes term and mileage so you can see the monthly impact before you order.
