Why brand matters

Pick the brand that picks you up when it goes wrong.

The headline price gets the click, but five years in, what really matters is parts availability, dealer network depth and how quickly your van gets back on the road when it needs to. That's why we list every major manufacturer side-by-side: so you can choose not just by spec sheet, but by the support behind the badge.

Ford and Mercedes-Benz dominate the medium and large segments respectively, with the densest UK service networks. Volkswagen is the quality benchmark, pay slightly more, drive a noticeably tighter van. Vauxhall, Peugeot and Citroën share the same Stellantis platform, which means you get tradable knowledge between dealers and competitive pricing.

For specialist work, Iveco and Renault still own the chassis-cab and conversion market. Toyota and Isuzu run away with pickup loyalty. And on the EV side, the field is opening fast, every week we add new electric variants from manufacturers who'd never previously made a van.

FAQs

Frequently asked

Do I need to be VAT-registered to lease a van?

No. Personal-lease and short term lease products work without VAT registration. If you are VAT-registered, business leasing usually lets you reclaim 100% of the VAT on a commercial van, speak to an adviser for your specific case.

What's the difference between business and personal lease?

Business lease (also called Contract Hire) is sold ex-VAT to limited companies, partnerships and sole traders trading commercially. Personal lease is sold inc-VAT to individuals using the van for personal or sole-trader use. The vehicle, contract length and miles work the same either way.

Can I add maintenance to my contract?

Yes, every lease can include service, maintenance and repairs (SMR) for a small monthly addition. SMR covers servicing, MOTs, tyres, brakes, exhausts and 24/7 breakdown cover for the contract duration.

What happens at the end of the lease?

On the agreed end date you simply hand the van back. There's nothing more to pay assuming it's within the agreed mileage and in fair-wear-and-tear condition. We'll also offer you a like-for-like quote for your next van around 3 months before end of contract.

How fast can I get a van?

Some vans are in stock now (4 to 8 weeks delivery). Factory-order vans take 3 to 6 months depending on manufacturer and spec. Filter by 'In stock' on any listing to see what's available immediately.

Can I change the spec or colour of a van?

Yes, most vans on factory order can be optioned to your spec, including colour, internal trim, roof height, wheelbase, ply lining and more. Stock vans come pre-built and can't be re-specified.
